When will my shipment deliver?
Moving shipments across the continent and between countries is complicated. LTL shipments can pass through many terminals in many cities. Learn how about how your freight moves.
Depending on the carrier, most freight delivers on time, however, because a variety of delays can happen, you should make sure you plan for this. Keep in mind that transit times are not guaranteed as they can be impacted by a variety of factors, such as weather delays and equipment failures.
FreightSimple will provide you with an estimated earliest delivery date, and tracking updates throughout the movement of the shipment. The estimated earliest delivery will be updated as soon as information is available.
To help you better plan your shipments, FreightSimple will also provide you with a predicted latest delivery date. FreightSimple predicts this based on analyzing thousands of historical shipments - looking at the carrier, service type, industry capacity and conditions, and transit locations. We believe 99% of shipments will deliver within this predicted latest delivery date. However, transit times are not guaranteed.
Common sources of delays are:
- Missed pickups
- Delays at customs due to incomplete documents or an unresponsive broker
- Fragile packaging causing handling errors
- Weather delays
- Shipments travelling on rail
- Problems with delivery
