Credit Terms

Credit Terms let established shippers with regular volume pay after booking instead of at booking. It isn't a separate way to pay. It's an agreement to settle your invoices later, on net terms agreed with our team, using your usual payment method. Setup is by approval, not self-serve.

  • For established shippers with regular volume. They work best when you ship consistently and want to streamline payment cycles.
  • NET 15 or NET 30. We almost always set terms at these lengths from booking. Other arrangements are possible but uncommon.
  • Approval required. You apply, our team reviews your shipping history with us, and we set terms that fit your business.
  • You have a Credit Limit. Once approved, your dashboard shows a Credit Limit that caps the total outstanding balance you can carry before payment is due.
  • Use other payment methods alongside. Keep a credit card or bank account on file and use it to settle invoices.
  • Quick, informal approval. There's no fixed waiting period. Once you reach out, we review your account and get back to you.
  1. Talk to our team

Reach out by email at support@freightsimple.com or live chat to apply for Credit Terms. Mention your typical monthly shipping volume so we can route you to the right person.

  2. Share business and shipping information

We mainly look at your shipping history and volume with FreightSimple, so there's usually no need for formal financial statements. We may ask a few questions about your business to round out the picture.

  3. We review and propose terms

We review your application and propose terms that fit your business: net days, Credit Limit, and any other relevant conditions. You can ask questions or negotiate before accepting.

  4. Your account is set up with Net terms

Once you accept, your account is configured. From then on, invoices generated at booking are due on your agreed net terms, and your Credit Limit shows in your dashboard.

  • Pay via Make Payments. When you're ready to pay, go to Make Payments and select the invoices you want to settle, individually or in batches.
  • Approaching the limit. The dashboard lets you know when your outstanding balance is getting close to your Credit Limit. If you reach the limit, new bookings are paused until you pay down the balance. Paying an invoice frees the limit back up right away.
  • Best for: Established businesses with consistent volume that want consolidated billing and net terms instead of paying per shipment.
  • Not for: New customers without shipping history, occasional shippers, or businesses that prefer the simplicity of paying with a credit card per booking.
Can I have Credit Terms and a credit card on the same account?

Yes. Keep a credit card or bank account on file and use it to settle invoices when they're due.

Can I increase my Credit Limit later?

Yes. Limits can be reviewed and adjusted as your shipping history with FreightSimple grows. Reach out to discuss an increase.

What if I want to change my net terms?

Net terms can be renegotiated. If your business needs change, reach out to our team and we'll review the arrangement together.
