Adding a new credit card
Add credit cards to pay for shipments. You can keep multiple cards on file, set one as your default, and switch between them anytime.
- Open the Financial → Credit Cards section of your dashboard.
- Click the + button and securely enter your card details.
- Set the new card as your default if you want it used automatically.
- Multiple cards on file. Choose which card to use for each shipment.
- 30 days of grace. Your card statement gives you around 30 days before payment is due, which works like NET 30 billing. No credit application or waiting period.
- One card is your default. Used for new shipments unless you pick a different one at booking.
- Cards are charged when you book. The selected card is charged for the cost of that shipment.
- Replace expired cards anytime. Update cards before they expire to avoid interruptions.
- You can remove cards. Delete a card anytime, as long as at least one active card remains on file.
- Accepted brands. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

How do I change which card is my default?
Open Financial → Credit Cards and select a different card. The change applies immediately to new shipments. Existing shipments keep the card they were booked with.
What happens if my card is declined?
The shipment cannot be booked until payment is resolved. Pick a different card on file or add a new one, then retry. If declines continue, check with your card issuer or contact us at support@freightsimple.com.
When is my card charged?
When a shipment is booked, for its quoted cost. If additional charges apply later (for example, a reweigh), you'll be notified before they're added.
Do you accept international credit cards?
Cards issued outside the US and Canada may work, depending on the issuing bank's policies. If yours is declined, try a different card or contact your issuer.
Is my card information secure?
Yes. Card details are entered through an encrypted, PCI-compliant form. FreightSimple does not store full card numbers on its own servers. Only the last four digits are visible to you and our team.
