Pickup and Delivery Reference Numbers

You can optionally add a pickup and delivery reference number. We highly recommend adding these if you have them.

A reference number is any combination of letters and numbers that you assign to a shipment. This reference number could be a purchase order number, a customer's job number, a sales order number or a phrase or words that identify the shipment.

These reference numbers are sent to the carrier ahead of pickup and delivery - so the driver knows what they are picking up or delivering.

Many docks are busy places - with many trucks and shipments coming and going. A reference number can help both the driver and the person on the dock know exactly which shipment should go into which truck.
