Instructions for the Delivery Contact

As the receiver of the freight it is your responsibility to:

  1. Check the delivery details ahead of time

Check that the details of the location, dock hours, any special services (lift gate, inside delivery, delivery appointment), and the freight itself are correct. Please open a live chat and notify us immediately if you see any issues.

  2. Coordinate an appointment (if required)

If an appointment has been requested, the carrier will contact you ahead of delivery to make that appointment. Work with them to find a mutually convenient time, and then make sure you are available at that time. Freight that does not deliver successfully the first time may incur additional charges, such as storage fees or redelivery fees.

  3. Help the driver find or access your location

Make sure you are available to assist the driver in case they are having problems finding or accessing your location. They call you for assistance.

  4. Inspect the freight carefully before accepting delivery

Any damage should be immediately noted on the Proof of Delivery prior to signature. A claim is less likely to succeed if the damage was not noted at delivery time. It is a good idea to take photos as well if you see damage.

It's worth it to take a little extra time to get the details right!
